Wow what a noise, way to early in the day. At least this morning the alarm clock is saying it’s play time

Up dressed eaten and got everything together in the car ready to go by 06:00 hours. Refuelled the car at the local petrol station and on the way to our destination of fun. Bloody dark and frosty this morning. Still we arrived at Cannock Chase by 08:00 hours out on the trail by 08:15.

Fingers are so cold I can hardly hold on to the handlebars, got to keep wiggling them so I know they are still there :0 with the morning being so fresh and having no-one else on the trail, we managed to practice a bit; I still have to build up on my confidence. Doesn’t help I suppose when the ground is wet and slippy, got up the hills with little trouble, but OMG! the flaming puddles coming downhill were quite big so couldn’t be dodged (unless you know how to jump them), I splashed straight through them all and the ride back was frozen; I couldn’t feel my feet, at one point I had to get off my bike and jump around on tip toes to try and get the blood circulating.

Glutton for punishment or what, with feet just about thawing out we decided to go round again, this time I used my shock lock on the front, this made it easier on the climbs not bouncing around the same. Still learning about me and my bike yet. Riding up by the lake I had to stop before the downhill and puddles as I was worn out this time and cold.

Weeeee down I go splash, splash,Splash, Splash,SPLASH! feet soaked again and like ice. I couldn’t feel them even when I was getting changed back at the car, even when we got home my toes were still tingling. It was Bloody Cold that water. But it was FUN!
