With the downturn in the temperature the ground has frozen, last Wednesday night and on Sunday morning (early before the thaw) we toured our usual route on Mendip.

Fantastic conditions - hard pack - just what we had missed out on all summer, the only downer was the previous wet muddy conditions meant that instead of flat hard pack it was all rutted and pitted hard pack in places - bit like riding a rock garden - just had to watch out for your tyre trying to follow someone elses frozen wheel rut!

Hopefully should be frosty tonight as well - the trails should be starting to flatten a bit so speed will be an option
