Rachel Atherton

Great day today. Oh! and yes that is the lovely Rachel Atherton you can see being interviewed with me at the Cycle Show today at Earls Court. One of the best bits of the day was spending it with Rich ( Buster), Phil (penfolduk) and Mark (Sparky). Loads has come out of today which for iBikeRide riders and the site was an awesome day. Here's a quick teaser summary of today whilst those photo's dry in the dark room and we cut the articles in the cutting room. Over the next few days you will get to read....

  • iBikeRide.com's one on one interview with World Champion and World Cup Series Downhill Winner. Our very own, our very lovely and incredibly skilled Rachel Atherton.
  • {hwdvideoshare}333{/hwdvideoshare}
    See some footage of top Trials and Dirt / BMX riders. The photo's are quite incredible.
  • A fashion show from some incredible dancers that were really good but I don't think have ever ridden a bike with nobbly tyresSMILEYS_WINK
  • The latest new and breaking pieces of bike technology to wow and feed our never ending desire for those shiny pieces of kit. Here's some headlines to get the tastebuds going of the specific articles to follow:
    • Yeti's new and unusual looking suspension technology
    • Scott's really light bikes and some with that very cool Truvati Hammershmidt chainset gear
    • Torq's very environmentally friendly, practical and neat looking mini one journey reusable cases (oh and thier stand their own in a Ben and Jerry's hall of fame ) new "Strawberry and Cream" recovery drink
    • Knog's very cool bike light bling so you are ready, illuninated and head turning prepared.
    • Satmap's new GPS tool that unlike anyone else uses ordenance survey maps which just seems right. Take something tried and tested and in a no nonsense common sense way make it accesible in a convenient and rugged digital device.
    • Marzocchi Forks latest simple but brill way to hold and remove the front wheel
    • Specialised own Christopher Sauser's personalised examples of bike love.
    • And the range of Corsair bikes build specifically to be ridden in Whistler. Yes they are sort of sick looking.
    • Trek were there in force and was great to say hi. We had our early preview and loads of features so little more to add on their already winning 2009 range.
    • Loads more...
  • Phil and Rich both have a great eye for what is topical and new . Phil was top cameraman today. Rich was brill and also helped stop me missing half the meetings I had set up. (I am so cream crackered from iBikeRidey meetings today). Mark pointed us in the right direction and ensured Phil got his weekly beating to keep him in order.
  • Did I mention we interviewed Rachel AthertonSMILEYS_WINK. All coming soon.
  • Loads and loads of fun.
