The 2009 Gary Fisher Roscoe
Hot

Many believe the Roscoe is the best trail bike Gary Fisher has ever made. Faster than an all-mountain bike, burlier than a trail bike. Roscoe is a lightweight contender in a heavyweight category.
It is for those who can't and shouldn't have to decide between a trail and an all mountain bike. It allows for both trail and long travel applications without compromising on either.
From a range perspective if the Fisher HiFi is the core xc bike with 120mm of travel and efficient pedalling then the Roscoe sits at the other end of the trail section. Speaking in Trek terms the Roscoe fits neatly between the Fuel EX and the Remedy. I beleive it will do really well in 2009 as it suits both the reality and dreams of many riders in line with the evolution of where trail centres are going. This is probably where I should next move to when my stumpy finally moves on (I know I say this about so many bikes, I just can't help myself)
Let's pull out some of the core technology and leading edge bits..
Genesis 2.0 Geometry
The Genesis 2.0 Geometry improves handling in tight technical terrain.
Custom Fork
The custom G2 Fox 140mm Fork is what makes it burly
DRCV
The proprietary 2-chamber DRCV air shock from Fox performs like a coil shock without the weight penalty. Imagine taking an air pump to your palm and pressing really hard. The palm catches the pressure and resists but eventually the pressure forces the pump and palm to disengage. Imagine then there was a second palm / chamber to take up and catch this pressure. This Dual Rate Control Valve (DRCV) is a Fox / Gary Fisher exclusive technology.
Rear Shock
The mid mount rear shock allows for additional air volume to be placed at top of the shock making for a lighter weight better performing shock.
RP24
The custom Fox RP24 damper on front suspension on Roscoe III
ABP
The Active Braking Pivot (ABP) keeps rear suspension active during braking
E2
The E2 head tube increases lateral stiffness without weight penalty.
It's a lovely bike..
