What The Manufacturer Says?
Green Oil is the original award winning green chain lube. Green Oil is a 'wet lube', suitable for all riding conditions, rain or shine. The Ecologist Magazine's 'Pick of the Month', Green Oil is also winner of What Mountain Bike's Gold Award.

Green oil is a the name suggests bike oil and it's green. Ive been using this bike lube for around 4 months now and it a) does the job it's meant to do and b) has not come  undone and made a mess in my bike bag and c) is really good for the environment like all their products. I know how all you geeks like some science so did you know that Green Oil chain lube's contains advanced long-chain molecules to reduce friction. These polymers also repel water molecules. This inhibits rust and corrosion, prolonging the chain's mechanical life. Green Oil's bottle is a thermoplastic. It can therefore be repeatedly softened by heating and hardened again on cooling. This means it can be repeatedly recycled. Their packaging has recycling  code '2'. You see they went to great lengths to ensure the labels  are also made of  the same plastic type to ensure it is recycleable.

Green Oil bottles are made out of HDPE, or 'High Density  Polyethylene', with the recycling code 2 shown above. This is the same  plastic as that used in milk bottles. Most councils take these away for recycling. If your council recycles plastic milk bottles, it will recycle Green Oil bottles. Each Green Oil bottle has a recycled paper label. This can be removed, and recycled again. Re-use is better than  recycling as re-cyclign using lots of energy which aint so great. They have a
