Web Site and Trailer Launched For New Clay Porter Movie Hot

Clay Porter the tipping point

The latest, and highly anticipated, movie from Clay Porter is the superlative "THE TIPPING POINT". Today sees the launch of the brand new web site featuring the epic new trailer. This is not yet reviewed but wanted to add it to our MTB DVD / Movie Review section as the trailer is great.

www.thetippingpointfilm.com also features information on the two World Premieres set for April. The first of the World Premieres will be hosted quite fittingly in the home town of current World Cup Champion, Greg Minnaar, during the week of the World Cup season opener. Those attending the event need to take note; April 9th at 8pm at the Nu Metro Cascades Theatre, about 300m from the World Cup venue. Tickets are on sale in front of the theatre for 50 South African Rand each. The 2nd World Premiere will be held in Monterey, California, during the week of the Sea Otter Classic, on April 17th at 8pm. Information on how tickets can be ordered, and the confirmed venue, will be posted on the web site in the coming days. Coming soon will be information on how to host one of the Regional Premieres which are always popular.

The all important sponsors who have made this film possible are major sponsors Fox Racing Shox and adidas eyewear who are also sponsors of some of the world's greatest riders featured in The Tipping Point. The movies other key sponsors are Santa Cruz Bicycles, Intense Cycles, Troy Lee Designs, decline magazine, and e*thirteen components.

Most people will be first checking out the trailer, to see what filmmaker Clay Porter has been up to in his editing suite these past weeks. Clay's currently in Australia filming with Sam Hill, and here's what he had to say about today's launch:

"This movie has been really important for me and my progression as a filmmaker and storyteller. Today sees the launch of our new web site www.the tippingpointfilm.com and I'm finally able to give people an idea of what the film is about. This is always the most exciting time for me; also to show off the new graphics and look for the film which I'm super happy about. The fact that we're having two World Premieres in 8 days at 2 key mountain bike events, on opposite sides of the world, is also pretty cool."

"Right now I'm in Australia capturing some pretty amazing shots of Sam Hill, which I can't wait for people to see in the full length movie, but for now, enjoy the trailer, and check in to the web site as more info comes on line".

Featuring every round of the 2008 UCI World Cup Series as well as the World Championships and shot anywhere between The United States, Australia, Finland and Canada, The Tipping Point is the sport of downhill mountain bike racing documented. The Tipping Point is a group of characters that inspire, grow and dominate in a world they confidently claim as unique. The Tipping Point is downhill mountain bike racing.

The movie is good, but it's totally spoiled by their crap attitude toward Sam Hill. Man, he's awesome, but you're all in the top league - why do you feel the need to do so much character assassination on him? Seems that Clay Porter has some issue(s) with Sam… Yeah, it just makes it all far less professional. Small time, brother. I'm not part of the DH racing vibe. I just free-ride and DH, and dig the DVD's and inspiration. Biking vids should be all about hard riding, all stoke. This feels more like a MTB soap opera. Great riding, great footage. Sam Hill rides like a fck’in legend. I was at the premiere in South Africa and it just killed the whole vibe for me. Now I think that Clay Porter is a knob, because he let bad vibes into a potenially great vid. Not professional at all. Shame Clay. Good vid otherwise.
