Madison Ravens Mountain Bike Glasses
Hot
The Madison Ravens glasses were a purchase I made when I had lost my earlier glasses which I am always doing!!. They seemed a good mid range purchase. Neither hundreds of pounds like those that automatically react to the light, nor too cheaply cheap where you end up just regretting you were being so tight...
I got them in Evans and they were a reasonable price (I think £39.99). They came in a boxed set which includes 3 types of lenses.
- Mirrored silver sun lenses light enhancing
- Orange persimmon lenses for those overcast days
- and a clear set of lenses.
Oh! Complete with bag....
I mainly only use the clear set of lenses to stop mud in my eye and don't bother with the hassle of changing over but good to have the choice. The cotton bag is great as is easy to carry and stops them getting too scratched up in your bike bag.
For those that wonder why the different colours... I found this on the old t'internet..
- Green, Silver: enhance contrast, making them suitable for brighter conditions.
- Yellow, Amber, Gold: filter out blue light and bring out shadows, making them suitable for most conditions and especially in low to moderate light.
- Clear: is best used for dark conditions such as during sunset or cloudy conditions.

Neat little package!
I found these a great mid priced range of glasses. Comfy, Hardy and easy to chagge lenses. They are functional and you don't notice you are wearing them down rocky descents. It is this reason I guess that I didn't notice leaving them on the side of a trail whilst eating a snack bar in Swinley
I need a new set..
