Bontrager RXL, RL And Race Mountain Shoes

This year Bontager have unveiled a new range of solid shoes. Top of the range is the RXL Mountain, then the RL Mountain followed by the Race Mountain mountain bike shoe. I was lucky enough to have these presented to me at their launch.
I was pleased to see that this is clearly not just a branding campaign to gain market share but a well thought out range. Evident is that the high level of design and technology that is synonymous with the Bontrager brand has been instilled to make a superior range of mens and womens mountain bike shoes.
Although the RL and Race Mountain range come with women's specific designs it would have been nice to have seen the a women's specific shoe in the RXL Mountain range that we start with.
OK let's have a butchers at the range and talk the merits of each as we go.
RXL Mountain Mens Shoe
This is for the hardcore cross country racer. It is light, comfortable and strong.
An efficient Silver-series carbon out-sole to transfer power to the pedals through increased stiffness and eight saving
Direct- inject durable TPU lungs for excellent traction
Air Mesh Tongue on top relieves pressure on the mid foot, allowing greater comfort and control.
External molded heel cup securely anchors foot
Medal top strap adjuster for a secured, snug fit
eSoles insole for optimum fit and comfort (I heard a rumour that 1000's of feet were scanned in the making of this)
Bontrager RL Mountain Mens Shoe
This shoe is for the core group of riders where comfort and style reign. It is still light but is more focused on comfort for the all day rider spending all day on that mountain.

Bontrager Race Mountain Shoe
This shoe uses esole like the others to make it comfy and supportive. It is a little less stiff than it's brothers and sisters in the RXL and RL range and hence it is perfect for those looking for a shoe on the bike as well as having great off the bike walk-ability across terrains (reminds me of a time in yorkshire having to carry my bike on my back for a mile up a rocky mountain thanks to gamecat). There is a nice women's style in the grey.
Overall it's a pretty neat range
