Annual Leave August 09

Had a great time this week. Got to my folks on Saturday, had a relaxing afternoon. Sunday we went for  a walk to look around Lee Quarry; definitely not ready for the Black graded part of the ride, but think I will be able to cope with the rest at a push. It was a good morning out and not too far from my parents, so will be able to stay at theirs and ride up to the Quarry. Probably do that on the next biking visit.

We drove on up to Peebles, Scotland to ride Glentress and Innerleithen; Monday was Glentress and Tuesday was Innerleithen. We had heavy showers on Monday while we rode the blue trail. We did Blue as last year my leg was still bad and all I could manage was the green.   Tuesday threw it down all the way through the ride, some of the ride was a mare, really scary, but absolutely great; will definitely do it  again someday. Hopefully on a dry day.  Wednesday we were going to drive to the Lakes but decided to stay in Peebles and ride the Red route at Glentress. A good ride.

Got back to my folks Wednesday evening in time to eat and a fine BBQ was had by all.

Thursday was my birthday and we went shopping, my hubby bought me some clothes and breakfast; then my folks took us my sister and niece for dinner that afternoon. We had a lovely meal and a great time, lots of laughs.

Drove down home Friday lunchtime, the traffic was manic! we didn’t make it back till near 1900 hours. 7 hours drive for a 3 hour drive! What’s that all about!
