Pumping For Speed and Control
Hot

This video from Bikeskills.com is one of the most useful, sweetest and best edited I have come across. It will help you learn to pump track fundamentals as well as add skills and control to all your mountain biking.
If you are looking to be a smoother rider to ride with not against the terrain check this out.

This really is the type of tutorial that is best watched rahter than read. Here though are a few general pointers:
- Always ride with your head up and ahead
- Remain active and in motion on the bike. Through a technique known as separation you can control your contact and your speed across dips, jumps, berms and all terrain.
- Through working your lower body separation you are active on your bike moving forward to back and up and down smoothly working with the terrain.
- Whilst working upper body separation your legs and hips work quietly whilst your upper body is highly active yet in control.
- With pumping you move fore and aft whilst working your upper and lower body separation and you have a smooth motion whatever the terrain
- Combine this skill with many other skills such as jumps or corners for maximum effect.
Always wear a helmet and appropriate safety gear any time you ride a bike and especially when you are learning a new and/or applying a new skill
