Great ride at Swinley today with debs. One of my best all year. I took my nukeproof hard tail as still need to fix my bushings on my full sus Santa Cruz butcher. To be honest Swinley rides much better on a hard tail. A full sus is overkill anyway. They've recently done a lot of maintenance after the floods and it is running better than I've ever seen it. Dry dusty trails, new sections to miss out the boggy bits, jump gulley super fast and hard packed. Respect to the trail team there. Also personally I'm benefiting from a recent coaching session with Tom Dowie. All in all a really brill day. Pleased as I failed to get arse in gear and get north wales booked in time with me riding buddies who have headed up there and so was upset I didn't go.
Debs was a trooper and great to ride with. We also found a way of cutting out some of the flat pedals bits and mainly doing the fun stuff. This leaves more time and energy for the gulley so all good. Tomorrow reckon I'm heading off to Chicksands as moving south of the river soon and will rarely get to go to my favourite bike park so need to cram some times in. Gonna focus on speed tomorrow. You won't see me I'll be riding so fast;)
Forgot. Last weekend had a sweet blast around Epping. Not a big one but cleared the cobwebs. No such thing as a mtb season but if there was one it's well and truly here.
