Cwmcarn Mountain Bike Centre: By remote chance, I was given opportunity of a free Saturday, should I do housework and shopping or push my luck with a third weekend in a row ride…??? Gave Tomks a call to see if he was free and discussed a Purbeck Hill jaunt. We hadn’t been for quite a time and the weather forecast was good. So yet another 4.30am up and out and on the road. Both set for the rolling hills of Dorset we set off. Only to change our minds on the approach to the M3, with a grin and that look of adventure, we continued to the M4... Cwmcarn here we come!!

Last night I drove to a secluded forest office on the border of Wendover Woods. Chicksands was great. I did the XC twice. First time I was a bit nervous and my riding a bit wobbly so I did it again at more speed and it all flowed as it should and the bike was really responsive. Mainly I had no handling problems
(the docs aren't always right)
Think it has been 4 months since the break and and testing riding. Pleased to be riding as been feeling a bit of a fake it has been that long

Went down to the local Newhall woods "The Fifty" today to try my hand at building with some of the guys who ride there locally.
Been dry the last few days so the ground was tough. We got built a good lip and then supported it with a big tree trunk. Filled the middle with logs and planks and stones and filled it with earth.
Good fun and still needs a bot more filling in but our enthusiasm drained a bit as
