What a mare when you’re actually forced to study because the weather is so in ya face and I mean quite literally. Missed out on going out and about this weekend on the bikes. At least the 2 weekends before we managed, though it was mainly road rides as the weather is so up and down at the moment, (like anyone needs telling that).
Well we had thought last night before bed, no matter what we’ll hit the road again; but as it had been raining from at least 3am and was still raining at 6am when I woke up hoping to get out on the bikes. It was still flaming well raining at 7am, 8am, 9am. Definitely not a riding day.
I’ve been using our x-bike trainer at home as we’ve not been out on the bikes this week, we took them in for a service then picked them up the day after. Then we had to take the car for some attention, need everything in working order for our Scotland break away. I so hope the weather has improved by then, the last time we were there we went to Innerleithen and the heavens opened, the rain was torrential; we sat there in the car and looked at each other and said we must be insane. But as it was our last day there we couldn’t leave without riding the trail, all the way up and all the way down soaked through to the skin. Enjoyed it, but I’m hoping to try it in the dry and without the rain blinding me so I can actually see when I have to duck to miss the branches of the trees as I wrestle to stay on my bike.
I don't care if the sun is shining, though it would be nice if we could sit in the garden on the 17th March as that’s our wedding anniversary 9 years.
We so need this holiday together x

... The last time we went to Scotland we were knee deep in snow, that was March this year. Lets hope September brings better weather I really want to ride Innerleithen again. |
