If you can drive up to Winlatter you'll get a full day out of that trip at least 4 hours of riding. but not bad and better then I expected. id like to try this again in the dry to get a proper idea of what its like.

Good Points
Blue Trails are simple and easy to ride.
The Orange Skilled Section not to be confused with extreme is really fun more of a challenge than the black section, good satisfaction level for completing that.
Considering the fact its Winter UK weather and it hadn't been great there wasn't to much-standing water and where there was standing water didn't cause any danger or cause the trails to become slippy.
Bad Points
The black section should not be flagged as a black section, Urban Red Rock-It Trail Sections 2 and 3 were much harder with massive drops and rock jumps requiring a much higher level of bike control.
The Climbs are incredibly steep and there seems to be much more climbing then descending and that's the major issue for me. (am definitely not fit enough) .
The Blue trails in comparison to trails up in the lakes and more like green trails if your kids have the stamina to climb a lot.
I only got an hour and a half riding done here. maybe it would have been different if the weather wasn't hail

Decent place for a quick blast if you live around Manchester.

Good Points
Good facilities, decent trail for a few loops. The most fun sections are the original blue drop into the vale, the orange sections and the red which starts with a drop off. I find in some sections doesn't quite flow right on the main trails.
Bad Points
I find in some sections doesn't quite flow right on the main trails.

Good place to get into trail riding. Some fun sections but nothing compared to places within an hour or so drive away. Would be good for getting your kids into MTB riding. If you did the whole thing (including looping back so you can do the short black and orange section it would only be 7 miles and would take less than an hour for the whole thing.

People of Manchester, drive half an hour to Lee and Cragg quarry near Bacup which is 10 time better than here but not as highly recommended on this site???

Good Points
Great for getting city people into trail riding.
Bad Points
It's small and its tame. Certain red sections are barely red IMO and the (short) black section would be classed as red on other trails.

Good Points
Surprising location, well maintained trails. Good for beginners and xc training
Bad Points
Stupidly placed features, completely ruin your flow for example stupid rock gardens in ridiculous places.

Good Points
Great trail, nice and flat and really fast. Black section is great could do with being longer.
Bad Points
There is just no where to get some air, every hump or bump you see there's a berm after it.
