Peckham BMX Track is a small track in Burgess Park in South London. It is run by CK Flash who I had the pleasure of meeting about 3 years ago as Lordship Loop was developing as a concept. He was a BMX racer earlier in his career and has taken the track form inception through to creating British, national and European BMX champions as well as having riders in the Olympic development squad.
This club is renowned for being open to all as beginners as well as churning out professionals. They define themselves as a small club with big dreams. They have British Cycling coaches and run a weekend youth club on the local Peckham BMX track.
Funding and plans have been approved and drawn up to develop a National-sized BMX track to replace the current small track. It will be 400 metres, have open access and floodlighting until 9pm. The track aims to open in mid 2013. If they can do what they have done with a small track think what they will be able to do with this.
