Intermediate Coaching

User Review

Good Points
Steve is kind, friendly, dedicated, loves his work and most importantly he cares. You can take it as read that you will learn sthg and improve but what you might not expect, and I hope I don't make a rod for his back, is the follow up email of 1000+ words reviewing the session. Immense customer care. Hope to see again soon.

The bonus is one of the best trail centres in the country - Coed yr Brenin.

Coming back from operations

In the last year I have had to have a lot of operations including joint replacements and my surgeon recommended cycling as a good low impact sport. Its been quite a while since I have ridden a bike in anger, so I was looking at some coaching to regain confidence on a bike as well as improve my technique. Both these goals were met and exceeded. A great session has left me itching to get out again.

Coaching session at Coed-y-Brenin

The gains made from the coaching given by Steve is way better value than spending on kit. Would recommend Steve without hesitation if you want to bring on your riding.

Clear advice and instruction that noticably improves confidence and speed as we practiced. This was the second session that my son and I have booked with See. Both of our technique improved so much after last year's session that we booked again this year. We were not disappointed as we both built upon the progress we had made since last year and went on to explore the next level. Steve also showed us a fantastic bit of older singletrack using his intimate knowledge of the forest. Detailed feedback written up and emailed promptly to aid memory after the session.

Bike Maintenance Course

Have a go.

User Review

Good Points

Steve has a well equipped, spacious and practical faciitiy in his old school house to demonstrate and allow novices like me to watch and have a go at everything from setting gears and brakes to putting in new brake cables and bottom brackets.

All the tools are provided and the spares are available which means you can have a go at whatever you want to on your bike.

Steve gave plenty of advice and tips as to how to check and prepare your bike, what spares to carry on rides and what is required to set up your own maintenance shop at home.

Would highly recommend if you want to either gain the knowledge of what to do to maintain your bike or have the confidence to have a go.

Bike maintenance training

User Review

Good Points

Steve provided excellent training for couple of complete novices who plan to ride the Lon Las in few weeks time. We assume nothing goes wrong when cycling unfortunately things do e.g broken chain on road to over to Tregaron in pretty isolated area, luckily training had taken place the previous week, we fixed with quick link and went on our way after 15mins ..............this would not have been possible prior to the training. To bed the training plan to replace chain-rings, cassette and chain in next few days.

6 of us all had an excellent day with Steve Beech at Coed-y-Brenin. Lots of useful tips and some intrepid riding. He is a star at bike maintenance as well, fixing a derailleur on the trail so we could all keep going. Gave plenty of feedback and photos after the event.

Good Points
Just had an excellent training session with the awesome Mr Steve Beech. I'm very much an MTB newbie although got some fitness from road cycling and running, and wanted to develop my technical skills so I could progress from just riding Blue routes. Had a 4 hour one-to-one session with Steve in Coed y Brenin and it was amazing. I learnt loads and have progressed from the blue to the red routes, haven been given both the skills and confidence to tackle trail features that I was scared of attempting previously. I've got loads to practice and the very useful feedback email Steve sent will help me remember what I should be working on. Really looking forward to another session in a couple of months and would thoroughly recommend Steve's sessions to anyone.

Fantastic

First impressions were great, Steve greeted me in a friendly and professional manner and we soon got talking about what my aims and goals were for the day. I felt very comfortable with Steve straight away and believe he had a genuine interest in my development. The day was structured well and it felt like I was have a genuine personalised training session around my needs rather than following a pre determined agenda. I would (and will) go back for more and would highly recommend Wheelism Coaching to people of all abilities. A very good day indeed.

Wheelism MTB Training Session

User Review

Good Points
Steve has a nice easy-going teaching style that really works. There was a mixture of learning sessions and backing it up with real trail riding; this really works. Steve's knowledge of the local trails meant that we could immediately ride sections of trail that were relevant to what we'd just practised. A week after the 4-hour course and we're still processing what we learned.

I can't imagine how anyone at any level wouldn't benefit from wheelism course -and have a great day's riding thrown in as well! Excellent.

Training Course Coed Y Brenin

Private Training Course - 4 Hours - Saturday Morning at Coed Y Brenin with Steve.

User Review

Good Points
Fantastic coaching, learnt loads. Steve did a full analysis of how I was riding. He was extremely patient and didn't give up on me despite me taking quite a while to learn the basics. It gave me loads to think about and was really good fun too. Steve then sent an e-mail later that evening putting everything in writing that he had shown me during the morning in really fine detail.
