Jamie organized a perfect cycling adventure for me. Being from the U.S. I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of trail difficulty. Jamie made sure I was happy and having fun on the entire trip. He provided tips along the way for improving my cycling. It was spectacular and truly one of my most favorite rides ever. The scenery was phenomenal and I would definitely recommend booking with him. If I return to the area, I will rebook. This was a highlight of my vacation. :-)

I had a heavy off about a year and half ago that really knocked my confidence. The off was a result of no/made up/seen it on a video skills.
So, Jamie has over three sessions - the last a few months after the first two to put all into practice - coached me to have the correct skills and on the back of this built up my confidence again. Now riding better because of this. Would go again as all I have been taught can be built upon again to a higher level also. Jamie is a relaxed coach and uses video shots of you in slow mo to show exactly what you are doing and then to instruct you in what you should be doing. Smiles all round when it all comes together.
Plus you get a bit of a tour of Friston forest.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend having a skills session with Jamie. We worked on various things including, cornering, riding steep sections, manuals, bunny-hops and general bike handling. I felt much more confident cornering and could feel the extra grip I had gained under Jamie's relaxed guidance. We ended the session by having a run down a trail and putting it all together, Jamie followed me down and continued to give me advice on braking. I have had tuition before, with a well-known skills tutor but feel I gained more from Jamie's session. It also helped that It's in the area that I ride. I'm looking forward to having more skills sessions with Jamie in the near future to help get me ready for some races next year.

I did not realise how much I did not know/understand until spending a few hours with Jamie. We covered everything from basic bike setup ( Tyre pressure/Suspension/cockpit ), cornering techniques, berms, bunny hops and pull ups ( I think they have a more technical term, but can't remember what it is) and all capped off with a blast down from the top of the trailhead. Jamies training style is multidfaceted, using description, demonstration and video, which really help to get the points across. I have come away from the session with much more confidence to push the bike in corners and better understanding of how to clear obstacles on the trail - Thanks Jamie.
On completion of the session we took the opportunity to try a trail for ourselves and managed to get lost again, it happens everytime we go into Friston ! maybe Jamie should consider providing a course on navigation for idiots....:-)
Look forward to the next time.

Good Points
Had a great training session with Jamie. It was fun and informative, not just explaining best techniques but how they work and why. Jamie was patient and encouraging. We spent a lot of time working on my cornering and maximising the use of berms (my weak point) so I have plenty to work with on that. We followed that up by running a few trails stopping to work on some jumping and drops. I have a distant history of aggressive BMX riding but now at 46 and having been back on a bike for only a couple of years felt the need to have a true professional look at my riding and help me with where I was going wrong. Jamie was just the man.
The whole session was a massive help in improving confidence.

I learnt lots of new skills with Jamie and my confidence has increased a lot. It's amazing how moving your body weight around on the bike helps massively with control. Jamie was patient, calm and explained everything clearly. Now I need to get practising!

A fun, enjoyable very helpful MTB skills ride. Jamie was very encouraging, positive and knowledgeable throughout the whole session. Lots of useful information from bike checks, through to cleaning the mud off!(there was a lot of it!) and an unexpected puncture repair session! This session was a great confidence builder. The downhills won't seem quite so daunting now! Thank you Jamie. :-)

A very enjoyable and beneficial session.
The session started with a check that my bike was in reasonable condition, a reassuring start.
The skills were introduced by demonstration followed by encouraging comments at my attempts. By the end I felt I had really got an idea of what I needed to aim for in future.
Highly recommended.

Hard to be critical of such effective and fun help. Basically I got back in to bikes as an old fart. I've found Jamie's encouragement and analysis perfect for ageing joints and my now relatively cautious approach to risk. In the sessions I've done so far - and I plan to do more in the Spring, once I'm a bit fitter - I've got enough confidence to do some of the dodgier downhills in Friston - and boy are they slippy - and do some of the drops I might once have thought un-walkable (they still are)!

Jamie tailors his tuition to YOU and is clearly a very skilled rider himself, which he does not flaunt as in 'look at me'.

Had a 3 hour skills session with Jamie Lynch of SEMB last week. I felt that I needed to improve my 'flow' in the singletrack since I spend a lot of time riding and some racing in the woods and forests around the south east. We discussed my goals and Jamie immediately made some recommendations regarding bike set up before we set off into Friston Forest for some on bike tuition. I was really surprised at some of my bad habits but very quickly we started working on improvements. At the end of the session, I felt that I understood where I was losing speed before the session and how the techniques that I had learned would improve this much sought after flow. Excellent.

Jamie took time to understand how I learn (my learning style)
He was patient and demonstrated the new techniques a number of times for me, and then with me
Session finished with riding in singletrack practising these new techniques , which allowed me to see improvements within the 3 hours !!
Bad Points
I sincerely can't think of any negatives
