Contrary to belief... Ibiza is not all Party... And Ibiza is not ridiculously expensive...

The format we have here in Ibiza is that the whole island is one big bike park... So if your not a fan of cycling off into the mountain range or you just want to be closer to civilization for a beer, it is possible... We have routes that can make you feel in the middle of nowhere and the terrain and scenery can change dramatically in a very short distance... You would not believe that Ibiza has so much diversity of trails.

We have on site in the garden a pump track... Jumps... Behind our house we have a cool trail on the hill...

We can do uplifts... Long tours... Technical climbing...

We cook good food

We take you to places with good food..

We can arrange a tour on quad bikes... Go Karting.. Kayaking... Cliff jumping...all sorts...

This can be more than a holiday... Be like hanging out with mates... And if you don't like it..you can have your money back!!!!

We can organize.. Pilates...yoga...Massaging

Just book your flight... pay us 15 per cent and settle the rest at the end...

Bike park coming along nicely... Rock garden practice area on the right... Switchback practice area next.

Me and my friend (two girls) just came home from one week at Ride Ibiza and it was
brilliant. We enjoyed one week of surfing trails and exploring the island. Ash took care of everything and was a sympathetic and funny guy to have around, yet very professional when it comes to riding. He took all the time we needed and tailored every tour to our needs. He knows the island like the back of his hand and offerd us a huge variety of trails. He also challanged us according to our skills.

As a patient teacher he helped us improve our skills and we could profit from his great experience and knowledge in mountain biking. Prior to entering the trails we were briefed very well and there was enough time to practice the tricky sections to follow.

As a woman you are used to looking at the back tire of your male riding friend and trying to catch up and survive the ride. At Ride Ibiza you can enjoy every second on your bike, take your time, improve your riding skills, push your limits if you like or just choose not to and you will always feel understood and in good hands. This was very much appretiated.

The place feels like home, clean and tidy. Ash always made sure we had everything we needed, every morning we got to enjoy his delicious breakfast (and good coffee!) and in the evening he unleashed his cooking skills for us or we went out for a bite in the region. Ash made sure that not only did we get cool trails to ride, he too made sure that we got to relax after our rides, either on the roof terrace or on the beautiful beaches.

I had an amazing holiday and I can dearly recommend Ride Ibiza to everyone, especially to the ladies. I’ll surely be back again.

Good Points
I went on a family holiday in Ibiza but wanted to try the riding while my family were on the beach. I found RideIbiza online and e-mailed Ash with my requirements. A quick response got us discussing options. I decided on a days ride with tuition, working on flat corners and jumps. A 2nd days riding then a day riding with my 15 yr old son and his mate. Neither of whom ride mtb.

Each day started with Ash picking me up at 0830 in his van. Ash took me to a different part of the island for each ride. Safety brief, bike sizing and suspension setup were all covered by Ash. I liked the fact that I felt there was a professional setup in the back ground with a easy going, laid back customer face. Ash was easy to talk to and funny. We shared opinions and banter. He clearly knows the island very well. Choosing appropriate trails bearing in mind the boys wanted something different to me alone. Ash only looked at a map once in three days and that was a new route that we were testing out. In terms of tuition, Ash explained things clearly, set up exercises to practise and fed back on my good and bad practise. I did become the subject of a couple of tuition videos he made which I did not mind.

In terms of routes we covered 25km on the tuition day and 35km on both the other days. Bearing in mind the august heat, this was about right, arriving back at my accomodation between 1330 and 1400. I carried 3.5 litres of fluid but Ash new fill up point on the way where a fizzy drink was welcome. There are a number of way marked tracks around the island for mtb and these seemed to form linking routes for trails Ash used. There was a little road riding but minimal and not detrimental to the days ride. A good mix of fire roads, single track and technical climbs/descents. Any thought of boredom on a fire road was blown away by the view either inland or on the coast. Other routes did not give you a chance to look around for the concentration required. The terrain was a great with dusty white fire roads, red dirt and rocks to solid rock cliff tops.

The hire bikes were Lapiere 150mm full suss bikes with dropper posts. I took my own gear but Ash provided helmets for the boys. Bikes were well maintained and Ash carried the required spares and tools. We had a broken chain and a couple of punctures in our 3 days.

I certainly think there is more riding to be had on the island and am trying to talk my mates into an mtb holiday staying at the RideIbiza accomodation. I fully recommend RideIbiza with Ash's knowledga, skills and personality from my day trips out with him. I did not go to the accomodation so cannot comment on that or the attached pump track and features.
Bad Points
Very hot in august for riding. I was lucky and had overcast days when I rode.

Trails
It´s hard to believe that such a small island with the highest hill not even reaching 500 m above sea offers such an amount of great and diverse trails. There are smooth singletracks, trails with lots of flow, steep technical descents, trails with rock-gardens that really deserve this denotation and mixtures of all the above mentioned. Thus a great variety of riders could have fun (it´s really XC to DH (when shuttling)).

Especially worth mentioning is the amount of natural and man-made features which can be found on and alongside the trails. An excellent example is the Antenna trail just behind their house where Tomas did a great job building jumps and berms.

A lot of the climbing was done on single-track ranging from nice and easy to steep and technical. The fire road climbs weren´t as terrible as at some of the other places I´ve been to, mainly because there is nothing high enough to really get bored out.

There was little time wasted on tarmac and even the “longer” tarmac-routes would be considered short ones in most of the other places I´ve been to.

Although a lot of these trails feature surprisingly long descents a dropper seatpost is highly recommended. Once for the occasional climb on the way down and on the other hand there are a couple of trails where one rides along a hill or riding along the seafront where on some sections it´s nice to have no seat in the way.
They also make a huge effort to take care of the trails in regard to cleaning, clearing and building them as well.

There are enough trails there to stay for two weeks (at least when you´re pedaling and not shuttling).

Despite the great diversity Ibiza features in respect of different trails and the amount of them it´s actually the quality (read fun, challenge, etc) of the trails that matters and in this regard Ibiza has a lot to offer.

Guiding
Ash has been the guide for the entire time. If there was something noteworthy on the track ahead it was told in advance, be it features that could be used, difficult technical sections, climbing challenges, sections which tend to be slippery, exposed sections, etc. He also gave hints how to get through difficult sections and best clear some of the features, where he also showed great patience. The daily trips he and Tomas worked fit great for what I wanted to ride.

Most of the time the routes started from the house and we got picked up by Tomas at the end of the day. One day we did shuttle-runs which is definitely recommended.

Place
Great relaxed place!
Contrary to my previous bike holidays where I almost always stayed at hotels included in travel packages I decided to give their place a try with the all-inclusive option.

Food has been more than enough and tasted great (at least as long as there are no porridge experiments carried out). They take great care on providing fresh fruits and vegetables. Dinner has been the second highlight next to the trails every day. Plus picking the oranges directly from the tree for fresh juice is hard to beat.

Their house isn´t near any of the bigger places of Ibiza, so if you think you “need” to be at a place where shops, restaurants, bars, etc. are reachable within 5 minutes of walk than their place isn´t suited perfectly (although there is actually a shop nearby which you can reach in a 5 min. walk). But honestly you won´t miss anything at all.

In their garden they have built a nice pumptrack and the backyard features a bike park, both I wish I had spent more time on.

Regarding the rooms the photos on their page shows what to expect: http://rideibiza.com/accommodation-during-your-mountain-biking-holiday-in-ibiza/

Ash and Tomas really try to make you enjoy the time at their place.

Weather
I´ve been there in the beginning of January and out of the two weeks there were 3-4 rather cloudy and cooler days (base layer and a longsleeve or windbreaker where sufficient though, no jacket required). On one day there where a few drops falling but it was so little that you didn´t even notice on the ground. All the other days were sunshine during the day. Nearly perfect weather for bike riding.

In the evening it does get cold enough to grab a sweater though.

Except for the last day wind wasn´t an issue as well.

Bottom Line

They claim „Serious 100 per cent satisfaction...” an it´s not exaggerated. Glad I went there.

In my mind Ibiza was the place to go party.... but from now on it's the No.1 place for trail riding!!
I like ruff trails and don’t mind if the climb up is hard pedaling also. The trails we started with had just this, plus stunning scenery at every top. After a few days I got exhausted and we did some fun shuttle runs instead. Well worth money, easy to load the van and just enjoy the fun part down. At the end of the trip I liked a more mellow pace and we ride some trails where both climb and descents where less steep. Perfect days out in the sun and I just enjoyed everything.
Accommodation has great standard, I found all things I needed and had a big nice room also.
I paid extra to get full pension, which was very nice after a hard day out. Food was tasty and healthy and served in big portions! A great recovery to manage one last run at the nearest antenna track (pedaling from house).

I would like to say thanks for your great service and let you know that I will be back!

Cheers / Daniel from Sweden

Good Points
When my wife first suggested a holiday to Ibiza I wasn’t overly excited. Not being a fan of lying on the beach all day didn’t help either. After a quick search through google I became a bit more interested as I stumbled across rideibiza’s website. At first glance they seemed to offer the kind of riding I was looking for.

They were also much different to the other companies I found which mainly seemed to be offering large group rides on boring dustroads. After contacting them through e-mail I got a quick response from Ash, one of the owners and guide. As my wife doesn’t ride I was looking for guided tours across challenging terrain. Ash was very helpful in planning two days of guided riding and arranging a rental bike for me.

Let me just say that I was more than impressed with the riding possibilities that rideibiza can offer. After being picked up by Ash at my chosen accommodation, another great service, I was taken to the accommodation of rideibiza. This gave me some time to get used to my excellent rental fully and play around in the pumptrack on site. Shortly after we were joined by other guest Steve and guide Tomas before getting ourselves in to the van to be taken to the north-east part of Ibiza.

After arriving at the starting point of our tour Ash made sure the suspension on both Steve’s and my bike was set up correctly. Starting off we did a short trail loop with some descending and technical climbing involved. This made sure we got used to our bike a bit and give our guides an idea of our riding skills.

Starting the “real” tour there was some moderate climbing involved. Let me just add that the climbing I did on both my riding days was never brutally long although sometimes short, steep and technical bits are part of the riding. The first descend directly gave a good impression of what was to follow for the remainder of the riding. The terrain was even rougher than I had expected and made fore some challenging riding. The trails we followed offered a very good mixture of relatively steep and technical descending and some more moderate terrain. Both Ash and Tomas made sure we were properly informed about the trails ahead and offering skills advice in between. Luckily I had opted to bring, and wear, my kneepads as this gave me just that bit of extra confidence to tackle the offered challenges. This was even more emphasized as I managed to crash halfway through our ride which shook my confidence for a bit.

After finishing our ride with a cold drink at the beach we were shuttled up a hill near the accommodation of rideibiza as an encore. This gave access to a well established flowy trail with some built in optional jumps. An excellent way to finish of the day. Next day I was taken to the west part of the island. This time Tomas accompanied me and again I was taken along some very good trails with amazing scenery. Tomas made sure to take some photo’s of the technical riding and off course some of the excellent views. The end of this ride was a long descend down to the beach. Here we met up with Ash halfway as he was doing some trail maintenance. Again a cold drink at the beach rounded up an excellent day.

All in all it’s obvious that rideibiza has put a lot of work into establishing, scouting and maintaining a trail network on Ibiza. Together with the offered services this can be a real alternative of spending some holiday time on Ibiza.

I've stayed with Ride Ibiza a couple of times - once in December and once in March. The weather's been perfect for riding mountain bikes. Ash is a great mtb instructor, very patient, and the location in the countryside is great with trails starting just next to the house and only a few minutes to a well-planned bike park with a little bit of everything.

I had never been to Ibiza until last year and like everyone else out there thought it was gonna be full of idiots and clubbers. MTB? Really? Soooooo wrong! I managed to do not just MTB but lots of other stuff like karting, quad biking, trips to beaches that you would never even find on a normal hol. RideIbiza have tapped in to a very new way of thinking on this island, and I wish them the best of luck. I would highly recommend Ash and his company and I will be back later this year for more of the same.

RideIbiza is brilliant! I had the pleasure of visiting 3 times last year, 2 long weekends and a full week. I met some really nice people whilst I was there, including Ash (the host). He just can't do enough for you. I'm a fairly accomplished MTB'r who loves his downhill etc and wasn't disappointed with the riding to be had there at all. Plenty to go at, from the extreme downhil, bike parks (yes...in Ibiza) to rides through fabulous countryside if you want. Ash caters for every ability and is also there to give advice if you need to improve your riding, help you set up your bike etc. The set up he has in his garden is brilliant for tuition/practice.
