Lochore Meadows mountain bike trails (also know as The Meedies) are part of the Lochore Meadows Outdoor Education Centre in Fife in Scotland. There is one mountain bike track which is 12km long as well as a skills area. There is also Whitewood Bikepark on site.
In June 2014 a public consultation was commissioned via Fife council for Collective Trax and the local Meedies Bike Club to identify future opportunities for the MTB facilities here. In March 2017 approximately 4 km of additional blue trails were added to the trail including Scotland’s first Adapted Bike Trail - which has been designed and built for side by side bikes and trikes.
Lochore Meadows Bike Trails
- The XC track is 12km long and there is also a small skills loop.
- Whitewood Bike Park consists of a range of table tops and a red run with drops and rocky sections. There is a small pump track and 4X track.
- The track was built in the previously disused woody strip at the edge of a local authority park situated between local housing which has been deemed areas of deprivation. This £50,000 community regeneration project was built using both contractor and strong local volunteer support.
The skills area won a UK-wide youth engagement award presented by Gordon Brown.
