Good Points
If want to get fit on you're bike it's fantastic track
Brave hart is great fun
And the woodland part of the track is fast and fun to

Bad Points
I am with everyone else the dog walkers are a pain and I mean that literally .
I have had to go to the hospital on two occasions because of dog walkers
Thay should not be allowed on the track .
And I think it could be maintained better
I volunteered last year to help with repair of the track four hours wasted
Achieved nothing .
Apart from that it's a great we track

For a track to live near and with the additional trails and pump track being built its going to be really good for a local spot

Some great wee trails that could do with a few more facilities.

User Review

Good Points
Compact, fun and varied trails, close to the city and with awesome views over the city.
Bad Points
No facilities at all, sometimes dog walkers can wander onto trails. Car park is dodgy after dark due to fact is popular with different nocturnal groups of folk.

I enjoyed this course apart from two things.
1.There are more dog walkers on the trial than cyclists despite having miles of existing footpaths to use.
2. A group of neds were hitting golf balls from the radio mast down on to the tracks below adding a unique Glaswegian flavour.

It could also probably do with some signposting from the surrounding towns.

We live close to this track and have used it quite often but not the full run.
On Saturday we did the full blue run and we all agreed it was great fun.
I decided to take it on with a racing bike with cyclocross tyres which was great.
The blue run has some great tests if you are starting out and the red run including the double dare will definitely test your skill and ability.
There are no facilities so you will need to provide your own refreshments.
Also take a camera there is some fantastic views of goat fell, the cobbler and ben lomond. All in all worth a visit.

Close to Glasgow so accessible for many. Good practice on the technical features and good to have somewhere nearby for short practices.

Good Points
All single track with plenty of features since this is the trail to be used for 2014 commonwealth games. First major feature is propellor point. Red option on the right ( rollable and looks more scary than it actually is) and a black option on the right. It's possible to bypass both. Next is the first part of the back section with a variety of forest twisty trail leading on to a short section of flowing downhill before a short uphill to double dare. Double dare is a twin track red section, bypass able through the blue downhill trail. Double dare itself is a downhill snaking section with all sorts of technical features built in. After this you'll reach Clyde climb - a bit of a puffer! Another downhill section after this, again with a black option, this is probably the best part of the trails. Once you've completed this, it's up through a technical rocky section which goes on forever and then into the woods.

The hardest part of big wood is brig o'doon. They should have called this bloody impossible - so far I have seen only two people manage this! I'll keep trying.

Then over stepping stones and broken biscuits back to the start of the loop.

It's not a long trail but fairly punishing in places.
Bad Points
There isn't a lot of consistent flow here due to the many technical features but this is deliberate due to its intended use.

Be prepared for no facilities at all except a car park.
